The BuDee Camp
So named after Bud and Dee Rafter who rented the property from the Missoula Forest Service so our children and those who came after could have a place to come for recreation and vacations. This beautiful spot on Elbow Lake was a dream of Bud’s so our family would have a place to vacation without it costing them an arm or leg to have fun. Here there was water to play in, mountains to climb, nature to watch, chip monks to feed, humming birds to watch, and a campfire to cook sum-mores! What more could a person want? Too bad he didn’t live long enough to enjoy all of this with his kids and grand kids. We are all blessed from his dream.
May those who have the privilege of using these great facilities keep them clean and neat for the next generation and beyond.
